SLB OneSubsea awarded two contracts by Vår Energi offshore Norway

Published: 07/20/2026

Awards spanning subsea production systems and gas export infrastructure developed on accelerated timeline and using innovative solutions to extend field life

SLB OneSubsea has been awarded two contracts by Vår Energi ASA covering subsea production infrastructure at the Balder and Goliat fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

The first contract covers the design and delivery of gas export capabilities for the Goliat FPSO, supporting the Goliat gas export project—a key step in strengthening the Barents Sea’s contribution to European gas supply through connection to the Snøhvit system and Melkøya LNG. The second contract, under the Balder Next New Wells project, comprises four well systems on single-can satellite configurations, together with associated umbilical systems.

Together, the awards span SLB OneSubsea's Subsea Production, Umbilical & Cable, and Processing Systems business lines, including the supply of multiphase meters.

"These awards are emblematic of what our partnership with Vår Energi makes possible," said Mads Hjelmeland, chief executive officer of SLB OneSubsea. "Moving from feasibility to contract award in just a matter of months is only achievable through the close collaboration and mutual trust built within the partnership. We are proud to be continuing our work with Vår Energi across both projects to unlock greater value, accelerate development and implement innovative solutions to maximize recovery."
